Enjoy your life at every moment

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.

Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?

Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fishes?

Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could become a rich businessman like me.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could then enjoy your life peacefully.

Fisherman: Isn’t that what I am doing now?

You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. You don’t even need to be more rich, more powerful to enjoy life. You don't need more money or cars. Materialism is not equal to happiness.

"Materialism is a system that eats us from the inside out." - Apostle Julius Ikhide-Iyke Etaifo

On the other hand, you don't need to be minimalistic or ascetic to be happy.
Do you know that most of the times, you enjoy life by its simplest things? Why wait till you acquire heaven and earth?

People think happiness can be found only in possessions or large cashflow.
The more those things are chased after, the more vacuum they create in us; and in the long run, the home of happiness, joy and peace that you seek will constantly be beyond your reach. You will continue to feel a little hard work will do it every time you get to each level. This is a rat running a race in a circular pit. This rat race will never end. It will continue, continue and continue unto old age and death.
Many choose to experience happiness later (after buying an item, elected into a position, accomplishing a task etc) in which case they develop a mindset of being happy later which will carry on into your retirement life. This leads to neediness for the rest of your life. Each level they get with the intent of becoming happy and peacefully fulfilled, their desire betray them.

People fail to realize that the more stuff we have, the more miserable and trapped we become. After all, stuff leads to debt, stress, even increases their emptiness and before they know it, its the dawn of old age.

"Buying more stuff is associated with depression, anxiety and broken relationships. It is socially destructive and self-destructive." - Anonymous

If you think living in a larger home with space - for instance - will guarantee your happiness. You are wrong! You don’t really know that it only equal to need for more stuff, more spending, and more worry. Then, when we run out of space, we move to a bigger property - or even rent storage space.

"The things you own end up owning you. It’s only after you lose everything that you’re free to do anything.” - Chuck Palahniuk

Come to think of it, HAPPINESS is a choice. Or you can be happy now, and not worry about being needy. Without any aorta of doubt, happiness comes from within. Simple! It comes from you! You choose to enjoy life at any moment of your life.

LIFE is at this moment, enjoy it fully. The wisest man ever to have lived on earth said all is vanity. Eccl.1:14: I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

"What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless." - Eccl. 2:22-23.

King Solomon applied wisdom - "I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure." Eccl. 2:10.

Live today. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Just today. Inhabit your moments. Don’t rent them out to tomorrow. Do you know what you’re doing when you spend a moment wondering how things are going to turn out with Perry?

You’re cheating yourself out of today. Today is calling to you, trying to get your attention, but you’re stuck on tomorrow, and today trickles away like water down a drain. You wake up the next morning and that today you wasted is gone forever. It’s now yesterday. Some of those moments may have had wonderful things in store for you , but now you’ll never know. - Jerry Spinelli

I have concluded for years that my riches consist not in extent of my possessions but in the fewness of my wants.

It is required that you enjoy your life at any time without considering the condition which you have at the moment. Live

The truth stand. Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking. So you must live in the present. Launch yourself on every wave. Find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land with the thought that happiness can be found there. There is no other land, my friend. There is no other life but this. It is one life. The fools seek happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet.

Live today!
Enjoy the moment!
Make memories!
Plenty of people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but because they didn’t stop to enjoy it. Enjoy your life! Life is once!
Live Out Loud!
