Living Faithfully in View Of Eternity

"When you live in the light of eternity, your values changes" - Rick Warren

Nowadays people, even Christians live life as if there is no eternity. They preach it but don't believe it. If not, why do they have to fight for their rewards here on earth. The focus of many have been shifted. They were heavenly conscious but now, earthly conscious - "God reward me here before I die!" No thanks to the doctrines of today on self-material actualization.

You must not forget that these world will pass away.
"those who use the things of the world,...For this world in its present form is passing away." 1 Corinthians 7:31;

Paul said, "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied." 1 Corinthians 15:19.

You must focus and lay your treasures in heaven.

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18.

What you are gazing at will determine how passionate you will be toward your life assignment.

What you are gazing at will determine the kind of nature and passion you will have toward any dream of yours in this life.

Master Jesus said, "where your treasures are, there your heart will be."

That explain why Christians pray the way they pray, hustle the way they hustle - as the infidel do - and live the way they live.

"He who lays up treasures in heaven looks forward to eternity." - Randy Alcorn

Everyday I ponder on this: do Christians believe in eternity, judging from the way they live? They don't look forward to it.

Why can't we learn from great men of old and present? Well, the values of the society have eaten deep in the church. Anyway, its end time, beloved! Not surprise!

Great men focused on heavenly glory and, that propelled them to fight tirelessly for the course placed on their hands.

What has God placed in your hands?
What has God told you to do?

Paul advised, in Romans 13:11: "But make sure that you don't get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God."

Romans 13:14: "...and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh."

Eternity and the indispensable glory it holds for saints is the believer’s glorious hope.
If we had no hope beyond this world, all our faith and expression of faith is vain. Streets of gold and everlasting life is ahead for every believer who lives faithfully and endures to the end (2 Corinthians 4:18). These are the things unseen but eternal.

While you are intently gazing on these things,
Can you be tired of running the heavenly race?
Can you give up fighting the good fight of faith?
Can present suffering for Christ turn you back into sin?
Can any temptation be too strong to resist?
Can any trial of life be too severe to endure?
Can you afford to disobey the Lord in view of eternity(Proverbs 1:24,32; Ezekiel 8:18)
Can you dare live like others who have no hope after death, no home beyond the grave?( 1 Corinthians 7: 29-31; 9:25-27)
Can present earthly pleasure, comfort and enjoyment cause you to forget your heavenly home?
Can the things of this ( Hebrew 11:13-16,27)

Let your focus be on things above.
Look beyond the golds of this world when doing anything.
Look beyond what you see.
Live the life that is in correspondence to eternity.
Remember, we are citizen of heaven not of this world.

Then you shall live out loud!
