God will hold you when you can't hold on!

God Will Hold You When You Can't Hold On

Bible Passage:  Matthew 14:22-33 — The story of "Jesus walks on water"

Please do read the passage before you continue...

Message:

The story of Jesus walking on the water is a powerful reminder that we need to have faith in life's storms and trust that Jesus is enough. A lot of significants can be coined from this story, but there is an uncommon grip to this story that I want to share with you today. Just stay with me!

"And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus." Matthew 14:28-29.

After Peter came down out of the boat and walked on the water to go to Jesus, he became afraid of the storm and began to sink as soon he looked down at the waves churning beneath his feet which caused him to lose his nerve and doubt.
He wasn't able to get to Jesus. He was slow! He was afar off!
Quickly, he called out to Jesus for helAnd
Verse 31,"Jesus didn't hesitate. He reached down and grabbed his hand..." MSG
Verse 31,"And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him,..." NKJV

This is the grip!

Peter was afar off.
He was unable to get to Jesus because of the storms of life.
He was steps away from our Master.
And he was sinking... at that point I believe what went through his mind was, "Is this how I'm going to end up?" "My life is crashing..."
His position and that of Jesus was not closed.

But,

All of a sudden, Jesus was there!
Jesus caught him!

What did this teaches us?

Peter was slow to get to Jesus before he started sinking but Jesus was not slow to get to Peter.

God will hold you when you can't hold on!
When you are a step backward, He is two steps forward —toward you!
Remember, His Grace is sufficient!
There is not shortage!
When you feel you are far away or lost or almost gone and you can't hold on and you have cried out like Peter, "Master help me!", He is already there!
He is always there!

And this brings us to the conclusion of this significant point of this miracle.
Jesus always comes to us in the storms of life. This is reminiscent of the words of God to Isaiah:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” (Isaiah 43:2).

The Lord may not come at the time we think He should come, because He knows when we need Him the most. But, He will come!

Remember,
God will hold you when you can't hold on!i

Please share to bless someone today!
