Be careful of how much you flaunt

It is better to be seen as not growing but secretly growing underground, than to be publicize and give others the zeal or room to monitor and strategize.

The passage below should explain better.

'At that time Marduk-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent Hezekiah letters and a gift, because he had heard of Hezekiah’s illness. Hezekiah received the envoys and showed them all that was in his storehouses—the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine olive oil—his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them...Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD: The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the lord..." '— 2 Kings 20:12-18. Isaiah 38.

Have you ever wondered why Jerusalem was besieged, destroyed and the remnants taken into captivity in Babylon? You would say, it was because they (Zedekiah and Jehoiachin) did evil in the eyes of the LORD, (2 Kings 23:36-37;24:8-9,18-19). It wasn't that.

Rehoboam and other Kings of Judah (1 Kings 14:22;15:3; 2 Kings 8:18;16:2;...) long before them did evil too but were not taken into exile because God was merciful on Judah. Others Kings like Asa, Jehoshaphat, Joash, Azariah, and Hezekiah restored Judah during their reigns. And with them, God kept the promise He made with King David.

"Nevertheless, for the sake of his servant David, the LORD was not willing to destroy Judah. He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants for ever." — 2 Kings 8:19.

What led to the captivity and the destruction of Judah and Jerusalem was because of the silly mistake of King Hezekiah which was stemmed from pride and man's desire for approval and glory. Take your time to read the Bible passages—2 Kings 20:12-18 or Isaiah 39.

Hezekiah showed his treasures and armour, and other proofs of his wealth and power to envoys or well-wishers from the Babylonian King, who heard of his illness and miraculous healing. He exposes himself because of pride.

What stops you from staying low key?

What stops you from shifting the focus from the success you just attained to God?

If it stays underground would the success not still be success?

People like to flaunt...well that is humans for you. They seek approval and applause from men. "Men, need to know that I have arrived now."

Remember, the battle of each day is enough for one day; don't add more...!
